The Big Book of Grappa by Cesare Pillon and Giuseppe Vaccarini was created for those who have developed a true passion for this distillate and seek to delve into every aspect of it in order to fully understand and love it.
PREFACE
From the vineyard to the still, from the still to the bottle, from the bottle to the goblet.
Everything no one has ever wanted to tell you about pomace brandy.
PLOT
When was grappa born?
Answering this question is not difficult, it is impossible. It was the most plebeian of eaux-de-vie (perhaps the Italian one the first in the world to be distilled) until it was able to propose itself in the fullness of its charm; it thus proved to be the most aristocratic of essences. In the absence of a strict specification to protect its production and transparency on the label, the authors of this volume set out on this difficult undertaking to provide the consumer with the tools to find his or her own way through the jungle of bottles offered to him or her; all under the banner of documented truth.
A long work of research, interviews and comparison with historical realities of the Italian territory; realities linked to the creation of grape brandy, to build an authentic guide to the knowledge of the history of Grappa, yesterday and today.
