Wash thoroughly before first use. Immediately after use, hand wash in warm soapy water and brush. Do not use detergents, abrasive sponges or abrasive cleaners. Do not immerse completely in water, as the surface may be damaged.If not dried immediately after washing, cast iron will rust. After drying, lightly coat the inside of the tray with cooking oil and heat for one minute over low heat. This will help restore any seasonings that may have been lost during washing.
Do not place the empty cast-iron tray on a hot stovetop or allow it to dry out. Do not pour cold water on it when heated or place it in cold water, as it may crack or warp.
Always use a cloth or oven mitt, do not use in a dishwasher or microwave oven.
If the tray should rust, remove the rust using a wire wool or wire brush, then rinse and dry well by oiling it as above.
If food burns or turns black while cooking, fill the cast-iron tray with water and heat to boiling. When the water has boiled, drain and dry well.
