The material from which they are made is renewable (corn, cassava and sugarcane): it is called BioPBS and is compostable at room temperature and naturally biodegrades in the soil into biomass, carbon dioxide and water, avoiding any negative impact on the environment. BioPBS is suitable for food contact - food safe - and has been internationally certified. For Europe, the regulation is EU10/2011.
